Summary
For many of us, The Color Purple–whether it’s the movie, the musical, or the movie adaptation of the musical–stirs up a tsunami of emotions. Themes of racism, classism, abuse, loss, and the power of sisterhood and sanctuary make many of us feel…all the feelings.
Join us in Oakland for BlackFemaleProject’s Sunday Salon Series. We’ll be discussing one of The Color Purple’s most central themes: identity. How do we view ourselves? How are we viewed by others? And how can we confront our sense of identity to our advantage?
This is our first in-person event in a long time! Come out to engage in self-reflection and in community.
Please register to attend. The Jack London Square location will be shared with all registrants one week before the event.
